People lined West Main Street in downtown Clarksburg Friday afternoon to watch the 38th annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival coronation. The ceremony officially kicks off the three-day festival held each Labor Day weekend.
Friday's ceremony began with the introduction of the festival's princesses, Minor Court, maids of honor and the outgoing queen, Regina Maria XXXVII Chelsea Boyles. The ceremony culminated with Boyles crowning Regina Maria XXXVIII Bryanna DeFazio, who will reign over the festival, as well as represent the festival at activities throughout the year. DeFazio told the crowd what the festival means to her.
