Feast of the Seven Fishes highlights Fairmont's Italian history

Amidst the various holiday festivities throughout the month of December, Fairmont’s rich Italian history truly gets the spotlight during The Feast of the Seven Fishes. The two-day event kicks off with a cooking school, The Festival Cucina, on Dec. 8. On Dec. 9, authentic Italian cuisine, artisan stalls and live music will turn Monroe Street into a full-fledged Italian street market.

Main Street Fairmont Director Nikki Lewis said that the cooking school is a wonderful start to the weekend, and it gets citizens prepared for what the street market has to offer.“It’s nice to kind of have an evening with food and drinks and people,” Lewis said. “It’s like an introduction into what the whole meaning and purpose of the event is, and that gets everyone revved up for the next day.
