Hundreds packed the waterfront here on Saturday for one of the best attended Italian Festivals in recent memory. Parked cars jammed the Mill Street Parking Lot, stretching north along Old Route 13 filling every parking lot and space along the way. Beautiful weather and comfortable temperatures combined with the attraction of the new boat docks brought thousands to the waterfront for an afternoon and early evening of Italian music, food and fun whipped up by the Bristol Borough Lions Club.

Crowds of people mingled passed more than 50 vendor booths, many of them selling Italian-related shirts and gifts with others spotlighting community organizations including St. Mark School and Bristol’s Feline Friends.  At the far end of the waterfront, kids had a ball jumping and bouncing around at the inflatable fun area. For much of the afternoon and into the evening crowds stood 10 people deep waiting for freshly made Italian sausage and meatball parmigiana sandwiches served by the Bristol Lions Club.
