Nothing beats the authenticity, freshness and experience of a genuine Italian deli, and luckily there are many outstanding outlets in the area to choose from. For the best of hot and cold Italian meats, cheeses, sandwiches, pastas, salads, desserts, and other specialties, the following great delis bring a little bit of Italy to Central Jersey and will leave you saying delizioso!
Biagio’s Italian Bakery & Deli in Stirling
Owned by the husband-and-wife team of Biagio Iuliano and Carmela Arale, Biagio’s has been a popular destination since it opened in April 2011. “We offer 47 sandwiches on our deli menu, including our very thin floured eggplant sandwich made with mozzarella, roasted peppers, and balsamic glaze, which we call ‘The Napolitano’ after the area of Naples where Biagio is from,” said Arale, who noted that their thinly-pounded chicken cutlet sandwich with broccoli rabe and mozzarella is also a huge seller.
