To celebrate the 750th anniversary of Dante's birth the Georgetown University Italian Research Institute, the Georgetown University Italian Department, and the Embassy of Italy, are sponsoring a recital of Dante's cantos related to science.
Riccardo Pratesi, from the Museo Galileo in Florence, Italy, will recite the cantos in Italian and comment on the scientific context of the selected cantos. Prof. Francesco Ciabattoni of Georgetown University Italian Department will discuss the literary context.
