The colors and textures of the city of Rome, Italy, will be on the walls of the studioROMA gallery in the exhibition titled Frammenti opening Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at 617 Franklin Street, Michigan City.
Frammenti is the Italian word for fragments. The photographs, paintings and rubbings created by Matthew Kubik find beauty in the crumbling walls and fading paint of Rome’s buildings which he sees as fragment of the city. His paintings are interpretation of the walls he photographed during his Rome tours including stucco, marble, granite and crumbling brick.
