The Bellaire Sons of Italy are celebrating their 100-year anniversary by doing what they do best: making a ton and a half of sausage (that's 3,000 pounds) for the annual Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival set for this weekend.
President Doug Hartlieb says it takes nine days and nearly two dozen volunteers to get this massive operation off the ground. "We get the pork butts, we cut them up put them through the grinder, get the casings, cut the casings and put them in nice rings before they're cut, cut them up and do the onions and peppers and take them to the stand," Hartlieb said.
