The Sons of Italy Italian Festival is slated to kick off at 4 p.m. Friday at Macon Plaza, Fifth and Macon. The Friday night event costs $5 per person and will run from 4 to 10:30 p.m., featuring live music by Foggiest Notion and Southern Belle. Pizza and Italian sausage sandwiches will be for sale, and a beer tent will offer alcoholic beverages.

The event will continue free of charge from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday featuring a food court with Pass Key sausage sandwiches, Musso's Sicilian sausage and other sandwiches, plus Classic Catering's spaghetti and meatballs as well as several other food and merchandise vendors.
