Mother of fallen firefighter returns to Colorado Springs to cook spaghetti dinner

Firefighters and their families come to Colorado Springs every year for the International Association of Firefighters fallen firefighters memorial ceremony, and every year, Rose Foti comes back. Rose’s son, Robert Foti, was a New York Firefighter who was killed during the Sept. 11 attacks. Since then, Rose has returned to Colorado Springs to serve people attending the memorial a traditional New York-style Italian spaghetti dinner.

“It was amazing. I can’t believe they were able to serve this many people,” said Steven Ferguson, whose brother is being remembered this weekend. “It was really good, too. I enjoyed it quite a bit.” Robert Foti, 42, was one of 343 FDNY firefighters and paramedics killed during the attack on the World Trade Center. He was a father of three.
