Hingham resident Sue Murphy Capobianco wrote and illustrated the lively yet mellow children’s book ”Buttons the Bunny of Button Cove Lane” several years ago, and she hopes to release the second in the series sometime next Spring. "They are gentle stories with happy endings," she said. "They're homespun tales that revolve around everyday events in this bunny's life, geared toward pre-school age children and toddlers."
The profits from the sale of her books benefit the Pediatric Emergency Department at South Shore Hospital. She dedicated the first one to “my family and bunnies everywhere.” This book features Freddy the Cat, Auntie Bubbles, cousins Elaine and Billy, and Uncle Eddie along with Buttons’ father and mother. More characters will be added in upcoming books, such as Nana McBunny, a new sister, Buttercup in the second story in the series, and later, Uncle Buddy, the lighthouse keeper of Beacon Island.
