June 28-29: Come Share Your Immigrant Stories!

Jun 16, 2017 1015

Two-Day Workshop. Wednesday, June 28-Thursday, June 29. 9:30am-4:30pm. John D. Calandra Italian American Institute - 25 West 43rd Street, 17th Floor, New York NY 10036

Come to a free, two-day digital storytelling workshop and create a brief video that tells your or your family's immigrant story. On June 28-29, staff from the Immigration History Research Center (IHRC) will teach a free Immigrant Stories workshop at the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute. They'll guide you through the process of making a video with your own script and images. You'll be able to share your video with future generations as part of the Immigrant Stories collection. No previous experience is required. Making your own video is a great way to learn how to teach others, including students and members of community groups.

Immigrant Stories helps people tell, share, and preserve personal or family stories about immigration. You will use the free Immigrant Stories website, that allows anyone anywhere to create an original 3-5 minute digital story from start to finish.

All Immigrant Stories will be professionally preserved by the IHRC Archives, North America's oldest and largest archive of immigrant life.

The workshop is free, but space is limited. All participants must register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/immigrant-stories-digital-storytelling-workshop-tickets-35347428109?ref=estw
