Italian-American heritage will be proudly displayed at the 32nd annual Festa Italiana this weekend.
Again set to be staged at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 931 N. Union St., the event will run Saturday and Sunday, featuring authentic Italian cuisine, games of chance, the popular bocce tournament and a lineup of area bands.
"It's the tradition of family, food, friends. That's the point of it," festival co-chairman Tom Palumbo told the Times Herald on Monday. "One of the things about the St. John's Italian Festival that's made it great is all of our food is homemade. It's not like going and seeing a pizza maker there that supplied it — not like that at all.
