The Columbia County Sons and Daughters of Italy 659 announce that Maria Lagana Stuttmeier and Theordore (Ted) Filli will be awarded the prestigious Positive Image Award. The lodge is hosting the annual Italian American Recognition Reception 1-3 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Lodge on Bridge Street in Greenport.

Presentation will be made to Stuttmeier and Filli. Light snacks and refreshments will be served. A celebration of the LaBefana tradition will be presented. There will be an unveiling of a plaque in memory of former lodge president John Florio Jr. who passed away in 2016. This award was established to recognize local Italian-Americans who make a positive contribution to our society and who present a positive image of all Italian Americans.
