‘SuperDesign’, a new exhibition at new york’s R & company gallery, highlights a collection of iconic italian masterpieces created between 1965 and 1975. over the past decade, the curatorial team — led by maria cristina didero — has conducted extensive research to form the most comprehensive understanding of these design works, their creation and influence on contemporary culture.

In response to modernist aesthetics, the chosen designers utilized bold and striking colors, kitschy symbols, and large scale distortion to create some of the most iconic furniture pieces of the last century.
