Get ready to see a whole lot of scooters on the streets of Richmond. Amerivespa, the largest scooter rally in the country, is coming to town this weekend. The national scooter rally will be bringing 400 scooterists to Richmond for five days of guided scooter rides, meetups and socializing.
The Graduate Richmond hotel on West Franklin Street will be the home base for many of the participants. The downtown hotel and streets around it will be ground zero for most scooter-sighting opportunities. “Expect to see lots of horn honking and waving. Scooterists are by far and large a friendly group,” said Josh Rogers, president of the Vespa Club of America, which organizes the rally.
