Lovers of Italian music, fashion, cuisine and history will gather for the sixth annual Summerville Italian Feast on Sept. 30 in downtown Summerville to celebrate Italian American heritage month. Event Director Jay Lombardo said the feast has grown every year since it began and he anticipates this year to be the most popular.
“We started off really small with 14 vendors now we have over 80,” Lombardo said. Vendors will set up on on Little Main Street and part of W Richardson Street. All the proceeds of the feast support the Dorchester 2 school schools. Lombardo said in the past the feast donated $20,000 to the school system to be used for its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program.
