What a nice stretch of festivals we’ve had, from Greek Fest to Memphis in May Barbecue and now to another favorite, Memphis Italian Festival. Italian Fest, as everyone calls it, is back at Marquette Park for its 28th party Thursday through Saturday. It always strikes a good balance of family fun and grown-up good times, mixed in with good food and music.
The park, at the southwest corner of Park and Mr. Moriah, opens Thursday at 4 p.m. Admission is $8 and it’s open until 10:30 p.m.; the music lineup includes Rice Drewry Collective, John Kilzer and Southern Avenue. On Friday and Saturday, hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Tickets are $10 until 4 p.m. Saturday, when they’re $15. Music includes School of Rock and headliner Kevin and Bethany Paige on Friday, among others. On Saturday, Loveland Duren and Larry Raspberry play, and the headliner is High Valley.
