Consul General Antonio Verde visits New Mexico

Jan 05, 2016 1459

In October 2014 Antonio Verde took the reins of the Los Angeles Italian Consulate with jurisdiction over Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. Next month he will travel to New Mexico for a series of meetings with government officials and with this state's consular representatives, Rosalba Maniaci and Cav. Lino Pertusini. The visit is in fulfillment of the consulate's mission to promote Italian language and culture, tourism and trade through the development of cooperative projects with business and institutes. Accompanying Consul General Verde will be Valeria Rumori, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute and Florindo Blandolino, Director of the Italian Trade Agency.

While their schedule awaits final confirmation, late word is that the delegation will attend the Kickoff Reception of the NM Italian Film & Culture Festival as honored guests on the evening of Tuesday, February 16. The event will be hosted by Scalo Northern Italian Grill in Albuquerque from 5:00 – 6:30PM. Tickets are $25 and include hors d'oeuvres, wine and the opening night film at the Guild Cinema, Ti Ricordi di Me?. What a great opportunity to celebrate the festival in the company of some of the top officials who represent New Mexico's Italian community.
