Questa è una storia nella Storia, una storia minore, di guerra. Non parla di eroi, di attacchi, combattimenti, di avanzate di carri armati. E’ una storia di prigionieri di guerra; i “P.W.”, Prisoner of War. Ma per chi l’ha vissuta, questa storia minore, non è stata meno importante, meno pesante di tante altre tragedie.
Per fortuna, almeno questa, è finita bene. A volte succede … Il Sottotenente pilota Antonio Bizio, abbattuto con il suo caccia CR 42 nell’agosto del 1942 sul Mediterraneo, viene recuperato in mare da una nave britannica, e dopo una sosta ad Edimburgo ( U.K.), viene trasportato in America.
