Artist Jeffrey Hill is not waiting for an arts commission to determine whether his 61/2-foot bronze “Harvest Memories” sculpture should be accepted into the city’s portfolio of public art. A new location in a high-profile spot at the heart of downtown has been identified — this time, in a spot that doesn’t need approval from the city.
On Wednesday, Hill said his piece will be installed at the Land Title Plaza as a replacement for the large Japanese maple tree that died over last winter. “This will be a great place to pay tribute to the many wheat farming families that helped sustain this little town through good times and hard times,” Hill said in the announcement.
