Fiore Introduces Itself to Queen Village With a Pan-Italian Dinner Series

Jan 10, 2019 104

Italian restaurant Fiore is preparing to open on S Front Street, with a series of dinners starting this week. The Queen Village restaurant, which takes over the former Kanella South space, comes from a duo of chefs with some notable experience. As previously reported, Justine MacNeil and Ed Crochet bring experience from New York restaurants Craft and Del Posto, with Crochet also having worked for Stephen Starr prior to the couple’s relocation to Philadelphia.

For Fiore’s debut, MacNeil and Crochet are looking across Italy — the first of the series, this Friday (January 4) will serve up five traditional New Year’s dishes like Sicilian Sfincione (a thick pizza), capelletti (meaty dumplings) with a rich broth, and Modena-style sausage and green lentil dish. Later in the month come dinners highlighting dishes from Rome (January 10), Tuscany (January 18), and Abruzzo (January 24). All are $90 with tax and tip included, with BYOB permitted.
