There are dozens of Italian restaurants along the Main Line. Some label themselves as trattorias. Others prefer to be known as ristorantes. Still others brand as cucinas. Many opt to market just as a restaurant, and use a proper name as a prefix or suffix. There are even a few that cook up fictitious names that “just sound Italian.” Case in point in the latter category is the handful of Fellini’s on the local cuisine-scape.
First off, there is no real Fellini wearing a toque or an apron (or a dark business suit with a fresh boutonniere) anywhere to be found hereabouts, namely in Berwyn, Media, Newtown Square. There could be one (but most likely not) at the Fellini’s in Charlottesville, Las Vegas, Monroeville, Ontario, Providence or Paris, but that’s beside the point. Around here, as they may say in South Philly: “Fellini? Forget abudit!”
