Mt. Washington's La Tavola Italiana a palate pleaser

Pittsburgh is a veritable mixing bowl of ethnicities. From its foundation, the city has been populated with immigrants from Germany, Poland, Italy and others. Settling into various neighborhoods, including Bloomfield's "Little Italy," Italians have blessed the city with the carby deliciousness that is their cuisine.

Over the years, we've seen restaurants blossom into staples. The variety of regional preparations keep our palates excited. La Tavola Italiana, atop Mt. Washington, isn't showy or ostentatious. The mom-and-pop owned eatery doesn't rely on food trends or ever-evolving culinary practices.
