A city known for its thin-crust pizza could soon have its own deep-dish option as well. Chicago-based pizza chain Giordano’s is seeking approval for a 4,442-square-foot restaurant in Southport Plaza at 7120 Green Bay Road. Acclaimed by many as Chicago’s best pizza, Giordano’s is looking to expand north of the Illinois border for the first time with locations in Kenosha and Madison.
Representatives from the company’s design and construction team presented conceptual drawings to the City Plan Commission on Thursday at the Municipal Building. The restaurant would be located in a vacant parcel directly off Green Bay Road between HuHot Mongolian Grill and McDonald’s.
