An Italian restaurant in Salem that had only been open for about a year is now closed. Trattoria Orsini will be replaced by another Italian restaurant, Antique Table, which has two existing locations in Winthrop and Lynn, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Prior to Trattoria Orsini, 26 Congress St. was the longtime home of a Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar called Grapevine.
Trattoria Orsini served a modern Italian menu that included salads, grilled octopus, and seafood, along with items like fried veal chop and pork tenderloin, as previously reported. There were also Italian wines, classic cocktails, and beer, and the space featured a pleasant waterside patio.
