While the majority of the buzz at the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club’s (9011 Collins Avenue) new restaurant offerings is around Thomas Keller’s upcoming 2018 project, there is another opening worthy of note. Late last month, the legendary Postanio hotel, which houses Michelin-starred La Sponda restaurant, set up a restaurant and champagne bar inside the storied hotel and club – its first location outside of its Amalfi Coast base.
Called Le Sirenuse Restaurant & Champagne Bar, it takes over the space once occupied by the Surf Club’s ballroom and gallery room, once called “Peacock Alley.” The 1930s clubhouse was restored to feature eclectic Mediterranean-revival designs, green and mahogany decor, a magnolia covered patio complete with ample of ocean views.
