A New York family searching for their shot at the American Dream believes they’ve found it right here in the Upstate. The owners of Greer’s new Mazzitelli Deli, brothers Rob and Anthony Mazzitelli, launched their hometown diner at 224 Trade St. last week. It’s tucked in a little corner of Chelsea’s Ladies Apparel, but you can’t miss it after you enter the store. Just follow the smell.
The Mazzitelli brothers said their goal with the new diner isn’t to offer up novelty meals and cluttered combos, but to master the fundamentals by selling customers flavors they love. “Simply fresh,” is the brothers’ guiding principle, Rob Mazzitelli said. “We don’t even own a freezer,” Rob Mazzitelli said.
