Telling anyone's life story in 1,800 words or fewer is a difficult feat. But when I met David and Rosetta Johnson of Cloquet, I truly struggled to narrow down our wide ranging conversation.

Does the story start with Rosa's Italian heritage and adjustment to living in America, or does it start with David's Cloquet roots? Or perhaps the best place to begin is when a boy met a girl — because in the end, this is a love story. The love between an American boy and an Italian girl; the love of family, of history, of culture. The love of two cities, and how one couple made two different continents their home.
