The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation promotes the dissemination of Italian publications and films abroad by granting subsidies for translation and dubbing/subtitling, which represent a strategic tool in the promotion of Italian language and culture abroad. The Foreign Ministry grants two types of financial incentives: Grants for the translation of unpublished Italian work abroad and to the production, dubbing and subtitling of short and feature films and TV series; Awards to Italian works translated abroad.
In 2017 we assigned 120 contributions and 1 prize. In 2016, 131 contributions and 2 prizes. The candidacies must be submitted by March 31 of every year to the Italian Cultural Institutes and to the Italian diplomatic and consular missions abroad according to the procedures established in the Call for candidates (click here fore more information).
