A lawyer has set his sights on transforming the Sardinia's regional capital into 'The City of Fountains'. Maurizio Loche, originally from the Italian island but with an associated law firm in the UK and legal advisor to the British Consulate, envisions Cagliari with an abundance of fountains, lights, and music embellishing its squares, gardens and street corners, and with the salty waters of the Mediterranean welling up and gushing forth in all their magical energy.
His plan has been written up and documented and bears a registered copyright, and wouldn't cost the city itself a cent. Loche's dream is to install as many fountains and related urban interventions across Cagliari as there are European, African, and Asian countries in the Mediterranean area.
