John Cabot University and We The Italians' Italian-American Heritage Scholarship

John Cabot University and We the Italians are pleased to announce a new scholarship that represents the strong link between Italy and the United States that has existed for centuries. As an American university located in the heart of Italy's capital city, John Cabot University embodies this strong bond.

Italian navigators and explorers, including John Cabot (Giovanni Caboto), played a key role in the discovery and exploration of the Americas. Italian-Americans continue to be a strong, important part of American life, serving as leaders in the political, business, and educational spheres.

In order to recognize this important tie between Italy and the U.S., as well as the legacy that Italian immigrants to the United States have contributed to both countries, John Cabot University and We The Italians are pleased to offer our Italian-American Heritage Scholarship. This half-tuition scholarship can be applied to one semester, and is available to two study abroad or degree-seeking students each year.

To apply, students must submit a 500-word essay or a 3-minute video explaining why their Italian heritage is important to them, and how they will take full advantage of their time at John Cabot University to discover and get more in touch with their Italian roots.

Eligibility requirements include: American citizenship or permanent residency, Italian ancestry (at least one grandparent who emigrated from Italy), and acceptance to study at John Cabot University either as a study abroad or a degree-seeking student.
