The Chico Sons of Italy held its 31st annual spaghetti dinner to raise money for local high school scholarships Sunday. This year, the money raised will also go towards the 4-H of Chico, a group made up of students who do different community service activities in the area.
The cooking began Friday and continued throughout the day Sunday. More than 80 Sons of Italy members handmade 2,100 meatballs, sauce and 300 pounds of pasta. Organizers said they expected to feed 800 people by the end of the day.
