Buongiorno! Welcome to Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township – one of several venues in the Detroit area hosting the annual Italian Film Festival USA. Premiering tonight on the Big Reds’ big screen at 7 p.m. is “An Almost Perfect Town,” directed by Massimo Gaudioso. The Italian Film Festival USA is a nonprofit organization that brings free screenings of award-winning contemporary Italian movies to dozens of cities across the country including Detroit now in its 10th year as part of the cinematic binge.
What to know if you go?
• The films are Italian but subtitled so there’s no language barrier
• Admission is free and everyone is encouraged to attend, Italian or not
• It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the commonality of storytelling on the big screen
• The festival runs through April 30 – with films being shown at various locations including Wayne State University, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Detroit Institute of Arts and in the Henrichsen Auditorium at Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township, which will be screening films selected especially for the school.
