St. Anthony of Padua's 42nd annual Italian Festival brings a Renaissance theme – and food and drink, music, expressions of faith, rides, games, handicrafts and more food and drink – to Wilmington, Sunday through June 19.

The festival, which boasts the third biggest crowds of any Delaware event – 73,000, after Firefly's 90,000 and the Delaware State Fair's 300,000 – this year will add a centuries-old tradition to its beloved final day parade. Women of all ages will carry baskets of flowers on their heads during the Procession of Saints, which steps off at 2 p.m. June 19 and winds through the streets of Little Italy. A sample, to the "Triumphal March" from "Aida," is planned for the Gala Concert that opens the festival Sunday.
