A Lima charitable organization rewarded Allen County graduating seniors for their academic achievement this evening. The Charitable Italian American Organization presented 15 seniors across the county with $1,000 scholarships based on academic achievement, participation in extra-curricular activities, and services to the community.
Family members of the John and Gena Mongelluzzo family presented the scholarships to deserving students in honor of the late John Mongelluzzo, a long-time pillar of the Lima Community and founder of CIAO. In addition to the scholarships, the Mongelluzzo family was awarded with the Service Above Self Award for exemplifying the CIAO mantra, “Our Family Helping Others.”
