The Italian sporting goods industry has not suffered during the three year recession that ended in 2015, and instead has actually increased its turnover despite the unfavorable economic climate.
Italy's sporting goods system has a territorial benchmark in the Montebelluna district. According to Assosport, the association of sporting goods manufacturers, the sector employed over 13,000 people - data updated to December 31, 2015 -, for an aggregate turnover of €4.5 billion (+2.6% over the previous year).
