Old-world culture meets new world activities at this year’s Festa Italiana at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights. The three-day festival, which runs Friday through Sunday, is designed to celebrate the rich heritage of Italian-Americans along with sights, sounds and flavors of Italy, according to chairman Joe Ventimiglia of the Italian American Cultural Society.
The decades-old festival will offer traditional Italian food, music and activities but this year, event organizers worked to inject modern features to give families more things to see and do.
