“Buongiorno” or Good Morning in Italian! Do the names Padroni, Baseggio, Guenzi, Rizzolo, DeSoto and Campanella sound familiar? These are just a few of the familiar family names of Italian immigrants that made their way to Logan County during the past 120 years. Many of these immigrants not only helped to settle the northeast Colorado plains, but their descendents continue to be active community members today.
Join Overland Trail Museum for its History Café on Wednesday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. and learn some fascinating stories about the large population of Italian Immigrants who settled in Logan County. Many Italian immigrants traveled first to the mountain areas in search of silver and gold and later made their way to the farm life on the Northeast Colorado Plains.
