ISSNAF, the Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation, and Intesa Sanpaolo, the leading banking group in Italy and one of the top banking groups in the euro zone, encourage all Italian researchers currently working in the United States or Canada to submit their application for the co-sponsored “Intesa Sanpaolo Award for Innovation & Circular Economy”.

In 2017, the Open Innovation and Entrepreneurship Chapter of ISSNAF, chaired by Luca Escoffier, decided to focus on the importance of the implementation of Circular Economy, therefore this award is dedicated to projects involving the potential or actual execution of one of the regenerative and restorative principles behind the circular economy (as identified by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the most influential player in this field).

All the award applications must be submitted by May 15th, 2017, the eligible projects will be selected by a Review Board composed of international experts in this field. Then up to five candidates will be presented during a dedicated event on June 20, 2017, hosted by Intesa Sanpaolo Hub in New York. Finalists will present their projects in oral sessions and the Award Jury will reward the winner with a certificate and a monetary prize of $3.000.

Intesa Sanpaolo, and ISSNAF strongly believe we need to re-think how our global economy works and to re-design the way things are made. To do so, the two institutions are bolstering a collective effort on this amazing journey and they are seeking to promote the best ideas for concrete scalable solutions.
