Gabrielle Saveri has always loved horses. Cowboys? Well, if they're along for the ride, so be it. Anyway, who doesn't like cowboys, especially Italian ones? Surely not Saveri, a Solano Community College adjunct professor who parlayed skills learned from the school's photography instructors and her summer trek to Italy into her first exhibit at Java Jax in downtown Vallejo.
It was photo instructor Rick Mariani — a Vallejo resident — who secured Saveri's showcase at the coffee shop.
"Gabrielle is a very talented photographer with an exceptional eye for composition and the ability to see movement in her subjects," praised Mariani.
