
The College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago will install Carla Simonini as the first Paul and Ann Rubino Endowed Professor in Italian American Studies on Nov. 4. The celebration will feature an inaugural address by Simonini and remarks by Fred Gardaphé, distinguished professor of English/Italian American studies at Queens College, CUNY.
The event will start at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass at the Ignatius House, 6324 N. Kenmore Ave. At 11:45 a.m. the official program will take place at the Mundelein Center Auditorium, 1020 W. Sheridan Road, with brunch to follow. Free parking is available at the main parking structure, which can be entered via Kenmore Avenue/West Sheridan Road.
