The 16th Molinaro's Italian Festival will be ongoing from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Molinaro's Ristorante. This year's festival is in memory of Fioravante DiMatteo. Look for a pasta sauce competition, a wine competition, a bocce tournament, a Chinese auction, a basket auction and live music alongside Italian American fare.
The festival was started after Antoinette Molinaro was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1989. "After that we wanted to do something in the community," Mrs. Molinaro said. "People were really great to me and my family, so we wanted to do something to help others. So we decided to have a festival, and we thought because we're Italian we'll call it Italian Festival to benefit breast cancer."
