A new Italian restaurant called Trattoria Da Lina opened its doors this past week on Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park, according to the Main Street Takoma organization. Dolci Gelati Cafe co-founder Marcello Minna is the owner of the new restaurant. The restaurant will serve a variety of pasta dishes, entrees like fish and steaks, sweet treats like crepes and a full bar. Don't miss the lamb chops, the branzino or the authentic tiramisu.
Chef Fabio Capestrano — who's worked in local restaurants like Il Canale in Georgetown and Al Dente near McLean Gardens — is in charge of the food. Trattoria Da Lina will seat 55 people in the restaurant in the "rustic dining room" complete with soft lighting, heigh ceilings and wood and brick accents. Future outdoor seating is also planned.
