Norristown, Plymouth parishioners set to celebrate Italian festivals

September's annual Feast of San Gennaro — named for Naples' patron saint — draws thousands of fun-seeking tourists and locals to the streets of Little Italy in New York.

The yearly religious feasts celebrated by descendants of the numerous Italians who settled in Norristown and Plymouth at the turn of the 20th century attract far smaller numbers. But these local events are more intensely personal thanks to contemporary participants' devotion to their Catholic parishes and unwavering loyalty to their familial and religious roots.
