Gaetano Arria, owner of Gaetano’s Bakery, is definitely in the know when it comes to dough. After working for 31 years as the executive pastry chef at Mike’s Pastry, the famous North End bakery, Arria opened his own in Medway. “I always wanted to do that,” he says. “I have a passion for baking.” After six years in Medway, Arria decided to shift locales to Holliston with his new bakery opening at 412 Washington St. in February.
“I always thought Holliston was a great spot to have the bakery and my guess was right,” Arria says. “Holliston has received us with open arms.” And eager taste buds. Gaetano’s Bakery sells Italian pastries and cakes as well as a wide variety of cookies (Italian and American) – all baked fresh daily in the back of the store. It also sells yogurt and soft serve ice cream with Arria adding a Berry Bon Bon franchise to the operation.
