Peter F. Tardo of Taunton, who leaves family in Bourne, died at his home October 6. He was 76. Mr. Tardo, who was born in Boston's North End and grew up in South Boston, was the son of Peter A.V. Tardo and Maria (Ciampa) Tardo. He graduated from Gate of Heaven High School and furthered his education at Fisher Junior College and Providence College with a degree in business administration. He received his Nursing Home Administrator Certification from Babson College.
Mr. Tardo served in the US Marine Corps, achieving the rank of corporal; he was honorably discharged in 1963. He was a former administrator of the Taunton Nursing Home and responsible for expanding and updating the home from a 41-bed facility to 101 beds. He was a former elected member of the Taunton City Council and an auxiliary deputy sheriff in Bristol County.
