Located in the Jefferson Park neighborhood, Sarto’s has sleek modern lines with elegant grey and white marble tables, as well as two bars — one traditional and one called a Cicchetti bar. The menu is divided into whimsical sections, such as first fittings (appetizers), textures (soup and salad), seamless pasta, tailored entrees, accessories, and alterations.
We started with their version of an Aperol Spritz (gin, Aperol, lemon juice, and Prosecco). Our server was chef Garret Meyer, and he suggested we start with Cicchetti, which are small snacks or side dishes (think Spanish tapas). The Cicchetti menu is changed weekly and our selection was a tour of Italy with a nod to Colorado — burattini (homemade soft mozzarella) with pesto, deviled eggs, Palisade Peach tart, and a sun-dried tomato tapenade crostini.
