The St. Francis Society of Ambler will host the traditional St. Francis Feast Sunday, June 7. Since 1918, this free public event has celebrated St. Francis, the patron saint of the town of Maida, Italy, where many borough residents trace their heritage to and where the festival began. "Cicerata," the official name of the feast, means a meal of abundance of chickpeas, pasta and sauce, according to the society's website.

"Our feast starts off with a Mass at St. Joseph's Church followed by a procession through the town and a devotional dinner at the Sons of Italy club," said Alyssa Davoli, the president of the society. "The feast also includes live music, entertainment for children, more food and lots of fun."
