In THE FOUR CORNERS OF PALERMO, Giuseppe Di Piazza uses his real-life experience as a crime reporter to bring to life the second mob war of Palermo. In his newspaper career, Di Piazza covered the murders of over 300 people, many of whom he knew personally: officers, judges, and politicians.

This book is his attempt to explain these dark events to his sons and the world at large. As our crime reporter looks back on his own youth, he lyrically retells four tragic stories that marked him: a Mafioso who refused to become a professional killer; a model whom he loved and couldn't save; a father who succumbed to hatred and jealousy; and a daughter in search of her lost honor.
