Ciao from Rome! Welcome to the 81st issue of our online magazine. At We the Italians there's a lot going on. We're working on a complete restyling of our website, which will be ready in September and won't disappoint our readers. In the meantime, on behalf of We the Italians I've been honored to participate to a couple of important happenings.

The first one took place in Rome, at the Rome Campus of St. John's University where I had the honor to be the keynote speaker of the second conference of the American Italian Sociohistorical Association, organized by my good friend Prof. Louis Gesualdi.

The second one was the presentation of the Italian version of our book in Reggio Calabria, where I had the pleasure to have with me as speakers Hon. Colombia A. Barrosse, American Consul in Naples; Prof. Simone Cinotto, one of the 50 interviewees and author of the book "Making Italian America: Consumer Culture and the Production of Ethnic Identities"; and Paolo Zagami, representative for Calabria of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy. More than 200 people attended the event in a wonderful location.

We're also very happy because We the Italians sponsored for the second time the Italian team who played against USA at the Newport Polo Club in Newport, Rhode Island for the 25th season of the Newport International Polo Series. With 2,000 people attending, at the end of a very tight match, USA beat Italy, led by Captain Marco Elser and top players from Rome, by 8 to 7: but what's important is that we are happy and proud of being part of the team and celebrate the friendship between the two flags we have in our heart!

There's a very interesting video we'd like to advertise to our readers, regarding those who emigrated to the United States from 1920 to 2013: it visualizes all of them based on their prior country of residence. We're sure you'll find it very interesting, you can watch it here https://youtu.be/fiPq7C06zjQ

Last but not least, we're working on the schedule of our next trip to the US in October. Besides marching on the 5th avenue in New York celebrating the Columbus Day and attending the NIAF Gala weekend in Washington DC, we're organizing thanks to our several partners all over the US a dozen presentations of our book in the American version: please stay tuned, we'll let you know where and when. For now we want to thank all those who purchased the book, because we just passed the 3,000 copies sold, which is a lot, considering that it is a self-published book which is not available (at least not for now ...) in the book stores.

Please join us on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter. Plus, as already told, we opened our own store, with gadgets, branded We the Italians! We're having a big success! We're so glad that so many of our friends already decided to buy one or more of our gadgets. You can do it, too! Don't lose this occasion, show your gadget with two flags and one heart to your fellow Italians, they'll want to know how to buy such a cool thing! Please: take a look at which areas you subscribed too. We changed our newsletter, now we have one for each area: those of you who subscribed for all the 9 areas will receive 9 newsletters. If you don't want that, please take a look at your subscription and change it however you want, or email us and tell us which area(s) you prefer.

That's all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future's so bright, we gotta wear shades!
